Ostional Turtle Lodge is an eco friendly small lodge in the heart of Ostional. The beach main attractions include the mass nesting of the Olive Ridley sea turtle, and in smaller amounts the Leatherback and Green turtles, there are as well numerous species of tropical birds, howler monkeys, iguanas, possums, coatis “pizote”, raccoons, porcupines, it’s an animal sanctuary, truly a treat.
There are fan or A/C rooms all with hot water and WIFI connection. There is in town a few places to eat, grocery stores and we are very close to Nosara (next door town) in which you can find about everything you need.

The Ostional Wildlife Refuge is located in the counties of Santa Cruz and Nicoya in the province of Guanacaste. It is bounded on the North by Punta India, the South by Punta Guiones Nosara and extending three miles out to sea. The refuge comprises an area of 300 Ha on land and 800 Ha of ocean.

HOW TO GET THERE

Ostional is about 10 km from Nosara’s local airport. Flying from any part in Costa Rica is very convenient to get to Ostional, Sansa & Nature Air fly twice a day each company (45 min flight).
By car Ostional can be accessed from Nicoya or Santa Cruz, and there are daily buses from Santa Cruz to Ostional (3 hours) and also from San Jose to Nosara (about 5 hours) and a short drive to Ostional.

From the Beaches of Nosara, drive 2 kms until the turnoff to Santa Marta to the right. From here it is 7 kms to Ostional. A bridge leads over the Nosara River but there is no bridge over the Rio Montaña or Rio Ostional, which may need 4WD or at least high clearance in the rainy season.
Ostional Turtle Lodge is located 150 mts east from the informational tourist booth.
